"Nessun dorma" Italian: English: "Let no one sleep") is an aria from the final act of Giacomo Puccini's opera Turandot (text by Giuseppe Adami and Renato Simoni) and one of the best-known tenor arias in all opera.
Luciano Pavarotti popularised the piece beyond the opera world, following his performance of it for the 1990 World Cup, which captivated a global audience.
Pavarotti alongside other members of The Three Tenors including Plácido Domingo and José Carreras performed to the audience at three further World Cup Finals: 1994 in Los Angeles, 1998 in Paris, and 2002 in Yokohama.
